Luka was my best friend's son.  Luka loved the water, among other things...After he was killed, I was moved to do something to honor his life, something that reflects this spirit.  Yoga and community (which is where my outreach lives) near the water (Luka's love), felt like the way to go.  Luka volunteered at the Fire Dept, worked on the lake during college and was about to be sworn into the Navy.  He had a heart of service and a bright smile that opens hearts wherever he went. The name 'Luka' means Bearer of Light.  I know this event will be light-filled!  With the help of Heidi, Ingrid, a crucial consultation with Patricia and invisible help, this event was ignited.  We imagine this day overflowing with opportunities to share selflessly and joyfully, capturing Luka's playful spirit. A beautiful light, who was loved very much was tragically killed on August 6th in a motor accident in Florida. The family has set up a scholarship in Luka's name in the field of Criminal Justice at his alma mater Florida Gulf Coast University (FGCU). Luka was going to be sworn in to the Navy the following morning and hoped to go into law enforcement.
